How to Use Reusable Diapers?

Reusable diapers really aren’t too different from single-use diapers (apart from all the great features of course) and if you follow a few of our simple steps, you’ll be fitting them like a pro before you know it!

First, adjust the poppers to get the right fit for your baby. Doing this before you change your wriggly baby will make things a lot easier. If you’re using liners (either Messless or Revolutionary Reusable), place one in the centre of the diaper. Next, lay your baby down on the open diaper and pull the front up, securing in place by using the adjustable tabs. Check that the boosters and fabric are all tucked inside and that the elastic edge sits in the leg line. For a comfortable fit you should be able to slide two fingers easily into the waistband at the front.

Just like all diapers, you'll need to check and change them every 2 - 4 hours throughout the day. At night-time, combine boosters if required for a peaceful night's sleep. Our flexi booster is made from super-absorbent hemp and is extra long and designed to be folded for additional absorbency where needed (great for front sleepers).

YES! Our diapers are Revolutionary because they truly are the only diaper you'll need from newborn to potty! You'll never have to buy another diaper again!

When your baby is young their diaper should be regularly checked and changed every 2-4 hours. You can store used diapers in your Stay at Home Wet Bag for up to 3 days before washing. With this in mind, you'll need 20 diapers so that you have some to use while others are in the wash. Our Everything Bundle comes complete with all 20 nappies plus a selection of accessories.

Liners are designed to make diaper changes a little easier by catching poo and helping you to remove it in a mess-free way. Add one liner on top of the diaper and when it's time to change, simply lift off the liner and dispose of the poo down the toilet. Replace with a new liner at every diaper change. We offer two options; Messless Liners are disposable and made from plant-based materials and our Revolutionary Reusable Liners can be washed with your diapers and reused again and again.

Boosters are designed to add extra absorbency to your diapers. These are especially great for long periods such as overnight or if your baby is a heavy wetter. Before fitting the diaper, insert a booster into the pocket of your diaper.

Get your poppers into the right position before each diaper change – it’s a lot easier when you don’t have a wriggly baby in the diaper.

If you have a newborn baby you’ll need to use the bottom set of poppers, attaching them to the closing top set. Once your baby is a toddler you’ll probably have no need to use the poppers at all however the adjustable tabs at the front will allow you to alter the fit as their shape changes.

Our fit guide video explains everything you need to know to fit reusable nappies like a pro!

When it comes to changing your baby’s nappy, just open the nappy and remove any poo, tipping it into the toilet. Liners are really handy for this job and take the fuss out of this messy step. Our Messless liners can be thrown away after use whereas our Revolutionary Reusable liners can be set aside for the wash. If any poo gets onto the surface of the nappy, you may prefer to rinse it through to stop any staining.

Newborn poos are runnier as their diet is liquid. During this time, you can rinse off the poo under running water. This can be done in the toilet bowl or at the sink. If you use the toilet, hold on to one corner of the nappy firmly and let the clean water wash away the poo. If you use your sink, be sure to clean the sink afterwards.

Newborn poo doesn't need to be washed off before storing your dirty nappies until wash day, but it will help to reduce odours and staining.

When wash day comes, don't overload your washing machine to allow your nappies to wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean.

When you start weaning your baby onto solid food, you'll notice their poo will change. At this stage, our Messless liners or Revolutionary Reusable liners will make cleaning your nappies quicker and easier. Both of these are designed to sit inside the nappy to catch solids and help reduce soiling.

Store your nappies for up to 3 days at most and when wash day arrives, empty the contents of your Stay at home wet bag into the washing machine drum. For an economical and planet-friendly wash, it’s best to always do full loads but make sure you don't overload your washing machine. Filling your machine to around ¾ full will ensure your nappies can wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean. We recommend washing your nappies at 40°C with non-biological laundry detergent. There's no need to use fabric softener when washing, as this can affect the absorbency of your nappies.

We recommend air drying your nappies either inside or outside whenever possible and away from direct heat. If necessary, our nappies can be tumble-dried on a low/cold setting.

Our Revolutionary Reusable nappies have adjustable front tabs which can be folded back on themselves and secured. This will stop the loop side from damaging any fabrics in the wash.

When you take a used nappy off your baby, we recommend you remove any boosters from the nappy pocket before you store them. If you have any boosters still inside the nappies, remove them before you fill your machine.

In between washes, store your nappies for three days at most in your Stay at home wet bag. This can be positioned anywhere that is within reach of your change table. The wet bag can be sealed shut using a fold, roll and clip method however we recommend leaving the bag open if possible which will allow air to circulate and reduce odours.

No. Pre-washing is not required if you follow our washing instructions carefully. Reducing the amount of time you use your machine is a great way to lower your carbon footprint and our nappies are designed for a simple and easy clean. However, if you do decide you need to run a pre-wash, select a short, cold wash cycle and half a scoop of detergent, and then store your nappies damp until you have enough nappies for a full wash.

Absolutely! And this is a great way to ensure you are using your machine and energy as efficiently as possible.

No, please don't iron your nappies, as this can affect their performance.

Sometimes your nappies just need a little extra TLC to remove any build-up of detergent or residues. A strip wash is a great way to give them a refresh and keep them performing at their best. Here’s our recommended routine:

Short wash without detergent – Run a quick cycle at 40°C.
Long wash with detergent – Pop in a full dose of your usual non-bio detergent and wash at 40°C.
Long wash without detergent – Wash again at 40°C, this time without detergent.
Final rinse – Rinse until the water runs clear and you can’t see any suds in the machine window. A short wash or extra rinse cycle works perfectly.
Tip: This process doesn’t need to be done regularly—only if your nappies start to smell, feel less absorbent, or if you’ve had a build-up of detergent.

Our wash guide video explains everything you need to know to make the wash routine easy!

When you head out for the day, pack your nappy bag with everything you need for your trip including enough nappies to get you through the day. When it comes to change-time, simply store your used nappies in your Out & about wet bag to keep them separate. When you get home you can transfer them into your Stay at home wet bag or pop them straight into the washing machine. Simple!

We recommend confirming your plans with your hospital as they will have their own procedures and rules (just in case). Your midwife is also likely to be able to advise you. Make sure you have enough nappies for your hospital stay - probably around 8 nappies. Our Out & about wet bag is a handy storage solution for when you are away from home.

Our Revolutionary Reusable nappies are made from super-absorbent fabric rather than chemical gels that can be found in single-use nappies. Our fabrics and materials are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified which means they are free from nasties which will help with skin irritation and reduce the chance of nappy rash.

Yes, recent studies suggest that using reusable cloth nappies or washable training pants as part of your routine can support earlier potty learning.

Reusable nappies allow children to feel a natural degree of wetness, helping them connect the sensation of needing to go with what happens next. Disposable nappies and pull-ups contain super-absorbent, stay-dry chemicals that keep children feeling dry through their potty learning years — which often delays the learning process.

Reusable nappies and potty training pants support:

- Earlier body awareness
- Faster recognition of cues
- A smoother transition to the potty
-Reduced reliance on disposable pull-ups

Every reusable change helps.
