FAQs

Here are our most frequently asked questions to inform your diaper choice.

  • Reusable diapers are diapers that you don't throw away. They are designed to be reused and then reloved and are made of super soft, high performance fabrics rather than plastic which can be found in single-use diapers. Reusable diapers are sometimes called 'cloth diapers' or 'washable diapers' but it all means the same thing.

  • YES! Our nappies are Revolutionary because they truly are the only nappy you'll need from birth to potty! You'll never have to buy another nappy again!

  • Yes. When washed responsibly and according to our care instructions, reusable diapers stop 5000 single-use diapers from being thrown away and produce 25% less CO2.

  • The first thing a diaper has to do is perform and our diapers do just that. Reusable diapers use multiple layers of super-absorbent fabric for ultimate leak protection. Any parent will tell you, that you can experience a leak in every type of diaper now and again! But the key is getting the right fit for your baby and ensuring you've prepped your diaper with the absorbency level you require.

  • Our Revolutionary Reusable diapers are made from super-absorbent fabric rather than chemical gels that can be found in single-use diapers. Our fabrics and materials are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified which means they are free from nasties which will help with skin irritation and reduce the chance of diaper rash.

  • You can make huge savings by using reusable diapers instead of single-use diapers - even when you take into account the washing costs. This saving will get even bigger when you use your diaper stash on a second child too.

  • When your baby is young their diaper should be regularly checked and changed every 2-4 hours. You can store used diapers in your Stay at home wet bag for up to 3 days before washing. With this in mind, we recommend that you need 20 diapers so that you have some to use while others are in the wash. Our Changemaker bundle comes complete with all 20 diapers plus a selection of accessories.

  • Our Changemaker bundle is a cost-effective and convenient choice that includes all the diaper you'll ever need from birth to potty. Alternatively, our Little Rebel bundle is the perfect option for anyone looking to start their journey towards a little rebellion.

  • Both of our bundles include our Messless liners and Bright & mighty cleanser which will help keep your diapers looking great and make change-time that little bit easier. Our Gamechanger Subscription Box is designed to make sure you always have these two items ready to use, and never run out!

  • We recommend confirming your plans with your hospital as they will have their own procedures and rules (just in case). Your midwife is also likely to be able to advise you. Make sure you have enough nappies for your hospital stay - probably around 8 nappies. Our Out & about wet bag is a handy storage solution for when you are away from home.

  • Liners are designed to make diaper changes a little easier by catching poo and helping you to remove it in a mess-free way. Add one liner on top of the diaper and when it's time to change, simply lift off the liner and dispose of the poo down the toilet. Replace with a new liner at every diaper change. We offer two options; Messless liners are disposable and made from plant-based materials and our Revolutionary Reusable liners liners can be washed with your diapers and reused again and again.

Boosters are designed to add extra absorbency to your diapers. These are especially great for long periods such as overnight or if your baby is a heavy wetter. Before fitting the diaper, insert a booster into the pocket of your diaper. Find out more about boosters in our Fit Guide.

  • Our potty training pants are not designed for full absorption like our diapers, and are designed to help contain little accidents to help make the transition from diapers to big-kid pants. They have a concealed water resistant layer and inner pad that hold small amounts of liquid. This allows your toddler to feel wetness and associate this feeling with needing to use the potty to help aid your potty training journey.

We recommend around 3-5 pairs of training pants so you can wash them at the end of each day.

  • Our swim diapers are designed to catch and contain solids in the water. Just like other swimwear, our swim diapers do not absorb liquids, and are designed to let water out to avoid weighing your baby down in the water. We advise checking with your local swimming pool on their requirements before use.

It's likely you will only need 1 pair of swim diapers for your short time in the pool (however, it's always handy to keep a spare). If going on holiday, we recommend taking around 4 swim diapers so it gives you enough to use throughout the day and rinse overnight for the next day.

  • Before you begin to change the diaper, you'll want to adjust the poppers first to get the right fit for your baby. If you’re using one, place a liner in the centre of the diaper. Next, lay your baby down on the open diaper and pull the front up and secure using the adjustable tabs.

  • Newborn poops are runnier as their diet is liquid. During this time, you can rinse off the poop under running water. This can be done in the toilet bowl or at the sink. If you use the toilet, hold on to one corner of the diaper firmly and let the clean water wash away the poop. If you use your sink, be sure to clean the sink afterwards.

Newborn poop doesn't need to be washed off before storing your dirty diapers until wash day, but it will help to reduce odours and staining.

When wash day comes, don't overload your washing machine to allow your diapers to wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean. 2 heaped tablespoons of Bright & mighty cleanser to your washing detergent drawer will add a boost to your laundry and help tackle tough stains and odours.

When you start weaning your baby onto solid food, you'll notice their poop will change. At this stage, our Messless liners or Revolutionary Reusable liners will make cleaning your diapers quicker and easier. Both of these are designed to sit inside the diaper to catch solids and help reduce soiling.

  • Once fastened, check that the boosters and fabric are all tucked inside and that the elastic edge sits in the leg line. For a comfortable fit you should be able to slide two fingers easily into the waistband at the front.

  • When washing day arrives, carry your Stay at Home wet bag to the machine and empty the contents into the washing machine drum. For an economical and planet-friendly wash, it’s best to always do full loads however you need to make sure you don't overload your washing machine. Filling your machine to around ¾ full will ensure your diapers can wriggle around in the wash and get extra clean.

We recommend washing your diapers at 104°F with enzyme free laundry detergent. Follow your machine manufacturer’s guide to find out the required dose for your machine. Do not use fabric softener when washing, as this can affect the absorbency of your diapers.

  • Pack your change bag with everything you need for your trip out, including enough diapers. When it comes to change-time, simply store your used diapers in one of our waterproof Out & About wet bag. When you get home, ensure you've separated the poo from your diapers. You can then transfer them into your Stay-at-home wet bag or pop them straight into the washing machine. Simple!
